Clarity Begins With Being Truly Understood

A thorough psychiatric assessment isn’t a formality, but it’s the conversation that shapes everything that comes after. We take the time most providers rush past.

INTRODUCTION

Every treatment plan we build starts here. A psychiatric assessment isn’t a formality on the way to a prescription; it’s the foundation everything else stands on. Rush this step, and you risk a diagnosis that’s more guess than answer. That’s not how we work.

At Clarity Connect, your evaluation takes as long as it needs to. We ask about your history, not just your symptoms. We look at patterns over time, not just how you’re feeling today. And by the end, you’ll have a treatment plan that’s actually built around your life, not a diagnosis code pulled from a checklist.

INSIDE YOUR ASSESSMENT

Four stages, each building on the last, from first conversation to ongoing care.

03 1
  • Initial ConsultationThis is where we get to know each other. We'll talk through what's brought you in, what you've already tried, and what hasn't worked. No judgment, no rushing. This conversation shapes everything that follows.
  • Diagnostic AssessmentUsing validated, evidence-based screening tools alongside a full clinical interview, we work toward a diagnosis that's accurate, not just convenient. If something doesn't fit neatly into one category, we say so, and we keep looking until it makes sense.
  • Treatment PlanningFrom your assessment, we build a plan that reflects your actual goals, whether that's medication, therapy referrals, lifestyle strategies, or some combination. You'll understand the reasoning behind every recommendation, not just the recommendation itself.
  • Follow-Up CareAn assessment isn't a one-time event. As your treatment progresses, we revisit and adjust, because the plan that made sense in week one isn't always the plan that makes sense three months in.

THE SCREENING TOOLS WE USE

Every assessment is backed by validated clinical instruments; not intuition alone. Depending on what brings you in, your evaluation may include:

GAD-7

measures the severity of generalized anxiety symptoms

PHQ-9

a standard tool for assessing depression severity

ASRS

screens for adult ADHD symptoms and their impact on daily functioning

SCARED

evaluates anxiety symptoms, particularly relevant for younger patients

ASQ

a general-purpose screening tool used to flag areas needing closer evaluation

Note: These tools don’t replace clinical judgment, but they support it. Think of them as a second set of eyes, making sure nothing gets missed in conversation alone.

IS THIS THE RIGHT STARTING POINT FOR YOU?

02

If you’re starting fresh
You don’t need a diagnosis already in hand. This service is for anyone who’s noticed something isn’t quite right: persistent anxiety, low mood, trouble focusing, sleep that’s been off for weeks, and who wants real answers instead of more guesswork.

If you’ve been here before
It’s also for people who’ve been diagnosed before, possibly years ago, and want a second, more current look at what’s actually going on.

FAQs

Most initial evaluations run about 60 minutes. That's intentional and enough time for a real conversation, not just a checklist.

Often, yes. Some situations take a bit longer to fully understand, and if that's the case, we'll say so rather than rush to a label that doesn't quite fit.

A short intake questionnaire ahead of time helps, along with a general sense of your symptoms, timeline, and anything you've already tried. No formal preparation required beyond that.

That happens more often than people expect. We'll keep working through it with you rather than forcing a fit; sometimes the clearest answer takes a couple of visits to reach.

Not quite. An assessment is a psychiatric evaluation focused on diagnosis and treatment planning. If therapy is part of what would help, we'll talk through that too, either alongside your care here or through a referral.

If you've been evaluated before and know a particular tool was used, mention it during your consultation. We'll factor that into how we approach your assessment.
